College of Engineering, Kakinada was established in 1946 by Government of Andhra Pradesh with three branches of B.Tech. Viz. Civil, Mechanical and Electrical Engg. Later in 1972 it became a Constituent College of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad. On 20th August, 2008 it became a constituent College for newly established JNT University Kakinada

At Present the following programs are being offered at our Institute.

B.Tech - Regular Programs - Civil Engg., Mechanical Engg., Electrical and Electronics Engg., Electronics & Communications Engg., Computer Science & Engg. with 50 intake in each branch. Intake from EAMCET Rank, Entrance Examination conducted by Govt. of Andhra Pradesh for 10 + 2 candidates. Generally all top rankers take admission in our College.

M.Tech. - Regular Programs -Mechanical Engg.(with specializations in Machine Design and CAD/CAM), Civil Engg. (with specialization in structural Engg.), Electrical and Electronics Engg.(with specializations in Power systems with emphasis on High Voltage Engg. and Advanced Power Systems), Electronics and Communication Engg. (with specializations in Instrumentation & Control Systems and Computers & Communications), Computer Science & Engg. (with specialization in Computer Science & Engg.) with 25 intake in each specialization. Intake is from entrance Examination conducted by the JNT University and GATE Ranks.
MCA - Regular Program - with 30 intake. Intake is from ICET Entrance Examination conducted by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.

In addition to above Programs, the Institute is offering B.Tech Contact and Correspondence Course for working People with Diploma qualification, M.Tech., Sequential Summer School for Teachers of Engg. Colleges and Ph.D. Programs through external registration in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Communication and Computer Science & Engineering branches.

Every year many Core and Software Companies viz. TCS, WIPRO, CTS, SATYAM, VIRTUSA, CSC, ORACLE, JUNO ONLINE, BEL, ITC, L&T, ESSAR STEELS etc. are visiting our Campus and on an average more than 80 percent of our students are getting placements through campus selections. Many of our Alumni are in very high positions in both public and private sector Companies and other Government Organizations across the Globe.
